About Dun

Dun is a homework tracker app built by Avi Varshney, a 12-year-old developer. Dun lets students add assignments by voice, tracks due dates, and syncs with school platforms like Blackbaud.

Dun is intended for users aged 13 and older.

What we collect

Dun collects only what it needs to work:

• Email address — used to create and manage your account.
• Homework tasks — the assignments you add (titles, subjects, due dates). These are stored in your account and visible only to you.
• Voice transcripts — when you use voice input, your spoken words are sent to our AI service to extract assignment details. Transcripts are processed in real time and are not stored after parsing.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, browsing history, or any other personal data.

How we use your data

• To provide and improve the Dun app.
• To sync your tasks across your devices.
• To parse your voice input into structured homework tasks.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

Third-party services

Dun uses two third-party services to function:

• Supabase — stores your account information and tasks securely. Each user's data is isolated and protected. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic (Claude AI) — processes your voice transcripts to identify assignment details. Transcripts are sent to Anthropic's API and are subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy. Transcripts are not stored by Dun after processing.

No other third parties receive your data.

Data security

Your tasks and account data are stored in a secure database with row-level security — meaning your data is only accessible by you, even at the database level. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure keychain.

Your rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us. Upon request, we will permanently remove your email address and all homework tasks from our systems within 30 days.

Children's privacy

Dun is designed for students aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Dun after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
